[ICC] Situations under Preliminary Examination: Recent News and Statements

To date, the ICC has opened investigations in six situations: (1) the Central African Republic; (2) Darfur, Sudan; (3) Uganda; (4) Democratic Republic of Congo; (5) Kenya; and (6) Libya.

In addition, the ICC Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) has made public that it is examining information about a number of situations around the world in order to determine whether an investigation should be opened. According to public and official statements by the ICC, the OTP is looking into alleged crimes committed in (1) Afghanistan, (2) Colombia, (3) Côte d'Ivoire, (4) Georgia, (5) Guinea, (6) the Occupied Palestinian Territories, (7) Nigeria, (8) Honduras and (9) Korea.

To date the OTP has published the conclusions of its preliminary examination into alleged crimes committed in Iraq and Venezuela.
